I recently finished Lauren Weisberger's latest book "Chasing Harry Winston." Weisberger, who is famously known for writing "The Devil Wears Prada" (and the accompanying movie), where she writes about three long time friends who nearing thirty and not married decide to make a pact concerning men (well to be truthful only two of the women decide to join in on the pact). The book can best be described as light, casual, yet easily addictive reading. The only issue I had with the book was the somewhat one-dimensional characters (the workaholic woman who doesn't like her man, the needy woman who drives away men, and the sultry woman who wont settle with one man). That being said I enjoyed reading it as a nice break from studying. There are also rumors around the web that it will soon be made into a movie...check out the author's website here for more details about her books, movie adatations, upcoming projects, etc.: http://www.laurenweisberger.com/
On another note: After devouring Sara Gruen's "Water for Elephants," about a traveling circus I was absolutely thrilled to learn they planned on making the novel into a movie. Shoot to the present with my recent viewing of Reese Witherspoon talking about her involvement in the movie, video included below:
And lastly in my list of great reads turned into moves...Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat, Pray, Love" whose book I have reccomended to just about everyone, has released the trailer for the movie starring Julia Roberts.
Can't wait to see these movies and be sure to check out the books before they hit the theatres!
