I got a chance to catch this movie over the weekend and am entirely glad that I did. Last Chance Harvey stars Dustin Hoffman as Harvey, an American jingle writer who is down on his luck. Not only is his job in trouble, but his only daughter is getting married and has chosen her step father to give her away. On his trip to England he runs into Kate (played by Emma Thompson) who is equally having a bad time. Perpetually single and caring for her elderly mother.
I was a little apprehensive as I walked into the theatre and noticed that I was one of the youngest in the entire audience. As the movie progressed it soon became apparent that regardless of age this movie was funny. It captured the awkwardness of the characters situations beautifully. As simplistic as the plot was it complimented the film immensely. The complexity came more from the emotions that the characters were going through. Definitely go check out this movie if you get a chance to.
